With classes beginning again in just a few short weeks, it’s about the right time to start thinking of what new things you’d like to try in Boston. While Pavement and Blue State will always remain a BU terrier’s personal favorites, take the chance to explore Boston’s café scene and check out some of these great café spots that are an easy T ride away!

With multiple locations in the Boston area, Café Nero is the perfect spot if you’re looking for something sweet, catching up with a friend, or simply just want to get some homework done. The photo above is the café’s Downtown Crossing location, and offers an extensive variety of desserts, sandwiches, and various kinds of tea. This particular spot even has a fireplace and sofas inside, making it a great for the season.

A coffee shop that likely sounds very familiar, the Thinking Cup can be found all over the Boston area with locations by the Boston Commons, Back Bay, and the North End. It’s a great place to visit in between shopping on Newbury and has a ton of breakfast, lunch and dessert options. This café also has many gluten free and dairy free options for their guests as well.

Another café that’s close to campus is Barrington Coffee Roasting Company. They offer a wide variety of different coffees, croissants, muffins, and other winter treats. Right in the center of Newbury, Barrington does get busy easily, so if you’re looking to grab a table to study, come early!
