Otto’s Pizza Fundraiser Recap

Morgan Cappetta

On October 27, 2015, I had the pleasure of attending herNetwork’s Otto’s Pizza Fundraiser. I went with a good friend to eat some delicious guilt-free pizza! I say guilt-free because we knew it was going to an excellent cause. The pizza itself was too delicious to feel guilty about it anyway.

Before I get wrapped up in reminiscing about pizza, I’ll digress. In case you have not heard, herNetwork is a women in business club at Boston University that, through networking and mentorship, aims to build a strong and empowering community that invests in ourselves and one another. We strive to inspire, connect and educate our members so they may run the world, to paraphrase Beyoncé.

This Otto’s Pizza fundraiser comes at the perfect time for us, as we take the fall to plan our annual Spring Conference, which provides the opportunity for driven female students to network with fantastic professionals in a broad range of fields. There are speakers, question and answer sessions and more. The all-day event is not one to miss!

Specifically, the funds raised from our event with Otto’s will help keep our costs for the conference low, to enable every student to attend regardless of their financial situation. We believe empowerment should not come with a hefty entrance fee.

Thank you all who participated in our Otto’s Fundraiser!

herNetwork accepts women of all majors and backgrounds, and our meetings are held on Tuesdays in Questrom room 326. Like us on Facebook for more details and updates! Fresh faces are always welcomed at meetings.
